Road trips are always a nice jump out of the routine. It was only a few hours away, but it's amazing what those weekend getaways can do for you.
We ended up chosing a nice spot in Southern Germany surrounded by all those fairytale castles.
I have a major thing for picture-perfect old towns. It isn't really too hard to make me a happy sightseer. Give me some of that old classic charm, and I'm set. Plus being in reach of the Alps always gives a good boost. The worst part of the trip was not being able to go explore them.
We ended up not getting much sun, it was that wet type of fall weather, constant switch between snow and rain. So the focus quickly shifted to good food and living that sauna life after those cold walks.

Weekend getaways will definitely be planned more often once that work-life really kicks in. Turning off all the overthinking, worrying, and planning will be a definite part of them. Plus earning actually (not side-job) money will help boost all these adventures to be had.
And now I'm going to be a cliche and say collect moments, not things.
