City Life

These last few years, it has become more apparent that I'm not a big-city girl. I like to be in the city, but I get pulled in by nature. The mountains, the smell of fresh air. Sunsets in wild places. Whenever I put myself in the right situation, I realize what it does to me. It revives me, and it puts me in my happy place.

We are downsizing city-wise, going smaller, and getting closer to the mountains. So excited to finally try something different and change my surroundings. I'll always be happy to visit my favorite people, wherever they may be, and return to the place that has been home for almost 12 years. But new things are coming, and I can't wait.

Breitnau

Saying goodbye to Busse.

Füssen

Road trips are always a nice jump out of the routine. It was only a few hours away, but it's amazing what those weekend getaways can do for you.
We ended up chosing a nice spot in Southern Germany surrounded by all those fairytale castles.

I have a major thing for picture-perfect old towns. It isn't really too hard to make me a happy sightseer. Give me some of that old classic charm, and I'm set. Plus being in reach of the Alps always gives a good boost. The worst part of the trip was not being able to go explore them.

We ended up not getting much sun, it was that wet type of fall weather, constant switch between snow and rain. So the focus quickly shifted to good food and living that sauna life after those cold walks.

...

Weekend getaways will definitely be planned more often once that work-life really kicks in. Turning off all the overthinking, worrying, and planning will be a definite part of them. Plus earning actually (not side-job) money will help boost all these adventures to be had.
And now I'm going to be a cliche and say collect moments, not things.

Neuschwanstein

This was the day after it was all over.
After my last med school exams, after intern year.
The beginning of not knowing what is coming next, seven years were always clearly planned for me.
Then all of a sudden the path disappeared.

I dealt with all the weird feelings that came with that, and now there are new goals in sight.
I'm having one of those pumped up days, where I am feeling the extra kick of motivation.

Too bad I can't wake up like this every day.
Now off to go check one hundred things off of my to-do list.

St. Ulrich

It felt like springtime as I walked out of the hospital today. Spring vibes automatically make the day better.
Sun is shining, birds are chirping, I don't need my gloves to bike home (always a win).

That mood also gets me craving the outside and not this desk.
A part of me wants spring now, and the more collected side of me knows to enjoy the moment.
Time will fly by too fast anyway.

Oktoberfest

Experienced German Oktoberfest.
The real deal.
The tent. The table. The food.
The music. The singing.

I loved the atmosphere.
We started early.
First beer of the day at noon.

As you could imagine the mood only got better as the day went on.
*thanks alcohol*

I had a down around six.
The kind of down where you think you have reached capacity.
I wanted to find a bench and stay horizontal for the rest of the afternoon.

Beer + Pretzels + a Corset...
I had to hate my decision making for a moment.

Eventually my 30 minutes of torture passed.
Party continued.
By the end of it all I could sing the songs and we were all dancing on tables.

Thanks Munich.
Good way to spend a Sunday.

Calling in sick on Monday seemed like the only acceptable thing to do afterwards.
Thanks for the hospitality and the experience Anna
