Take a Ride
This scooter did it all.
You don't need much more on an island like this.
Luggage
Surfboards
Groceries
Dogs
and some off-roading.
No problem.

Melasti Beach
We stumbled upon this place by complete accident.
And I have to say this was the most perfect beach we found.
It even came with our own personal dog.

Fish for Lunch
We liked this place so much we came back for round two.
You step inside the market and you choose your lunch.
For example a red snapper.
The fresh morning catch is 1 kilogram for five Euros.
They clean it for you, they fillet it for you, they will do anything you want with that fish.
Just don't look at the surfaces they are preparing your food on.
Then you go to one of the two grill shacks at the end of the market.
They throw your seafood right on the fire and sauce it up.
The sauce is in a pot and there is a shirtless man smearing it on your fish in a professional manner with a never washed brush.
You don't ask any questions and you pay your 20,000 rupiahs(1 Euro) and you take a seat.
This had to be the best fish lunch I've ever had.

Jimbaran Fish Market
I'm so happy we stumbled upon this place.
It was really "a day in the life."
The local fish market.
Occupied by the people of the island going about their daily routine.
It was colorful and alive and smelled SO BAD.
Saying it was clean would also be a huge over exaggeration.
The woman in the second picture was clipping her nails while selling squid.
Just to give you an idea of the hygiene level.
Inside the actual market a rat crossed our paths.
The rat ran right past us with a fish head half the size of its body in its mouth.
I don't remember if I screamed or if I stood there with my mouth hanging open.
The dirtiness didn't change much though.
Lunch was still fully enjoyed.

Green Bowl Beach
I experienced monkeys in the wild for the first time in my life.
You could just lay on the beach and watch them do their thing.
Their thing consisted of stealing other peoples stuff and fighting over food.
At one point a monkey even came and took our 2-liter water bottle.
It unscrewed the lid, drank some and spilled the rest.
Then while we were in the water, I looked over at a few of the people waving their arms around trying to distract a monkey.
It didn't take long to realize that it was dragging one of our small backpacks up the cliff.
Even when you think you have made something too heavy or monkey proof, you probably didn't.
This place is a hidden gem.
It is definitely not a tourist attraction, and the last thing I expected was a perfect little cove with a monkey population.
