Gamshütte

I can't wait for exploring mountains to be the go-to activity again.
The countdown is here. 25 more days.

Moody Mountains

Another day was spent wandering those perfect green hills.

B took a quick dip in the lake, and then we packed up. On our way down, we spotted something good in the trees. We picked what we could, trying to beat the storm. The same problem always comes up once you start and keep spotting them. You just want to keep going. The rain eventually got to us, and we had to leave.

On the way down, I took in the scenic mountain drive with a bag of porcini mushrooms in my lap, just in time for dinner and a lazy evening in that cozy house.

I will always be thankful that he introduced me to this place and that I can keep coming back with him. Not taking any of it for granted.

Himmelreich

This place is living room goals. Every time I go there, it hits me again. The space is so cozy and inviting. All you want to do there is drink tea, read books and watch the snow fall. Perfect for those sleepy post sauna afternoons. One day I want the home with the perfect mountain view and exactly that warm feeling.

Winter Sunsets

My own personal tour guide. The first time on the new gear and it was so worth it. They sky didn't disappoint either. Thankful for the person who pushes me to my limits in all the good ways.

Weird Times

What to even say.
I'm at home spending my morning as I usually would, except that it is not the weekend and I should be at work, but yet here I am. One wouldn't really even know a crisis was hitting the world sitting here in my sunny room, sipping on my tea. On one end, everything feels the same; on the other, I feel suffocated by all the bad news continually dropping in.

I do have to say it feels a little better than it did a few days ago. Maybe I've also stopped reading so many articles and am not watching the nightly news because I was starting to lose sleep. I would avoid doing that to yourself. Going to the hospital every day and seeing the images of these people chest CTs is enough for the moment.

My goal for today is to do a lot of reading unrelated to corona as I wait for my COVID test results to come back. To be positive.. or not to be.

Tannheimer Tal

That one time, we signed up for a bike race.

To make this long story short, we did not end up racing. I didn't even start. After seeing a few bikers get taken out by the wind, there was no part of me even considering biking drenched for six hours.

So that very long-awaited day ended up with a lot of rain and no sore legs.
Attempting to try it again next year.

We thankfully ended up hiking on the day before the race. Which may have been a bit of overkill knowing what was waiting for us in 12 hours, but when you see the peak, you can't not go.
And once again we experienced more perfect views of another picturesque valley in Austria. At this point, I think that's the only way they come.

Dog Days

Finally getting through the rest of my June pictures, and this day stuck with me. It was so nice being able to do a road-trip with Lucky, but she also just consumed me that weekend. It's hard to bring a dog into somebody else's home. You want to respect it, but she was also just six months old, and still learning some basics. Can't even imagine how a human child would drain you.

Now I get to hang out in the US for a couple of weeks, stress-free and nothing to make me exhausted. There will be enough of that when October comes around. Enjoying the mountain air and hot sunshine for now, while I wait for my person to come and join me for some adventures.
