This was my favorite thing about the Canggu area.
Everything was surrounded by rice fields.
The farmers were constantly trying to scare off the birds, so the fields looked like they were decorated and there was always someone strolling through waving homemade tools around.
Our breakfast spot was on a little side road surrounded by these fields.
We would usually be sitting there by ourselves and you could just watch the rice blow in the wind and the occasional moped speed by.
Perfect place to get a feeling for this completely different way of life.
