The Dolomites have always been on my travel list. I couldn't wait to finally get to see those picture-perfect Italien villages surrounded by those impressive peaks. Well, the day finally came, a weekend getaway in northern Italy, and the weather did not play along. I didn't even get to catch the silhouette of a mountain. The fog took over. It's staggering when you know what is supposed to be right outside of your window, and yet there is nothing.
We at least had a day without rain and were able to get outside. Our attempt to go on a walk turned into an unexpected hike that felt like it was right out of a movie. Entirely alone in the fog.
This summer, we are headed back for round two. The visibility can't be worse than zero, so here is to hoping that the bikes can also come along.
