Kings Peak

8.9.16
Finally made it to Utahs highest point.
13528 feet / 4123 meters

We headed up around 5 pm Friday afternoon.
Made it to camp just after sunset.
About six miles in and so ready to get that pack off my back.

The fear I was feeling building up to this trip subsided on the way to camp.
I mostly thought BEARS BEARS BEARS.
We didn't even see one.
SO THANKFUL.

Just a lot of moose.
Mama and baby right at the start.
Perfect to get that blood pumping.

On the way up we passed quite a few tents.
Knowing we weren't the only ones up there was a relief.
Still in the wild, but we weren't completely alone in the wilderness.

Then came camp!!
Pack away for a whole 30 hours and my back never felt better.
It was the perfect little spot in the woods.
No person in sight.
Sleeping outside and away from the world is the best thing you can do for yourself.

Waking up out there.
The sun coming up over the mountains.
Feeling that first morning warmth on your skin.
Swinging in the hammock.
Drinking mountain coffee and eating maple syrup brown sugar oatmeal.

My little bit of heaven.
