I would love to have wisteria or ivy growing all over my house. I would be willing to live in England if that meant that's where I would have my ivy covered house.
I think vines of any kind make houses, fences and walls in general look prettier. Even if they sometimes are bare in the winter. They make up for it in the spring, summer and fall.
but.. I don't really know about this idea.
