Hiked up to Sunset Peak yesterday afternoon. Up there you are in a spot between 3 ski resorts and two canyons. We found a "warning you are leaving ski area boundary" sign, which gives you an idea of how deep the snow gets at the top. In the winter those signs are about waist deep. Across the last ridge the whole pathway was sand. I was pretty surprised to see that and even more surprised that it hadn't all blown away by now.
