I have been home for three days now and it feels so good to be back in Utah. I love Germany, but sometimes I need a break from my second home to come to my first one. I missed the views, I missed the people, I missed the canyon drives. I have to say that even going to Costco with my mom two days ago was fun. I forgot how enormous everything can be in the US. The shopping cart itself amazed me. It was enormous and the isles were still big enough for four shopping carts to be side by side. The smell of food here.. overwhelming. I'm not surprised anymore that people are constantly eating out. These smells of all these million calorie foods fill the air and it really can be hard to resist. The stop light being on the opposite side of the road, so that I don't have to crank my neck all the way to the side makes me happy. All these little details really do make me miss this place. I am happy I get to spend two months here. At the end of it I know I will be counting down the hours to go back, but for now I will enjoy this americanized world around me.
