I'm moving into a new place next week, so Kim and I went mattress shopping. Of course the mattress store ended up being forty minutes away from Freiburg, but hey we had the day off. The train ended up stopping half way, they kicked all the people out and the conductor said they had some sort of problem and they were heading back to Freiburg. They told us buses would be coming to get us, so we waited in the middle of nowhere. We managed to get on the first bus.. we probably should have waited. The experience showed me that all place are the same in the end. Going through the middle of nowhere on a crowded bus with too many people reminded me of parts of eastern Europe. First it smelled awful on the bus. Body odors, the smell of smoke and just humidity. Then it Germany ended up not being so pretty. I am used to my beautiful Germany all the time, well it's not always like that. Getting farther away from the train tracks we just got deeper into a lower standard of living. I guess I should go see northern Germany. Not everything can be as beautiful as these little places I have been living in. So to finish this story really quickly. We got to this fortress of furniture, I didn't find anything I would even consider buying(it just reminded me of RC Willy too much) and I got completely offended by the sales people. They need customer service.
We did get an enjoyable walk back to the train station, I got to enjoy a pretzel and we had a nice calm ride without any distractions back to Freiburg.
